CLIENT TERMS
Design services are tailored to the scope, size, and complexity of each project. The following terms are intended to provide general clarity around process, deliverables, revisions, file delivery, and project expectations.
Scope
Project scope is defined in the approved proposal, estimate, or written agreement. Only the deliverables specifically outlined in the project scope are included. Any additional requests, expanded deliverables, or changes in direction may require an updated quote, revised timeline, or additional fee.
Revisions
Unless otherwise stated, design packages include two rounds of revisions. Additional revisions, concept changes, or scope changes beyond those included may be billed separately.
Payments
Full payment is required before work begins, unless otherwise agreed in writing. Payment reserves studio time and initiates scheduling, concept development, and production. Final files are released once the remaining balance has been paid in full, if any balance remains under a custom agreement.
Timelines
Project timelines vary based on scope, responsiveness, and revision rounds. Delays in feedback, approvals, or source materials may affect final delivery dates.
File Delivery
Final presentation files are typically delivered as PDF. Supporting files may be shared by email or secure download link, depending on file size and project requirements. Editable or production files, including CAD files, are only included when specified in the approved project scope.
Design Intent
Unless otherwise stated in writing, drawings, renderings, floor plans, elevations, sections, and CAD files are provided as design intent documents. Final engineering, fabrication detailing, code compliance, material performance, and field verification remain the responsibility of the builder, fabricator, contractor, or client-appointed technical team.
Confidentiality
Confidential projects are welcome. NDAs can be reviewed and signed prior to project start when needed. Any confidential materials shared for the purpose of design development will be handled with discretion and used only in connection with the project.
Portfolio Use
Unless restricted by NDA or otherwise agreed in writing, completed work may be included in the studio’s portfolio, website, social channels, and related promotional materials.
Project Pauses or Cancellations
If a project is paused or canceled after work has begun, payment is due for work completed up to that point. Deposits are non-refundable once work has started.
Additional Services
Unless specifically included in writing, project fees do not include fabrication, engineering, permit drawings, printing, shipping, installation, on-site supervision, or production management. These services may be quoted separately if needed.
